Southern receiver Devon Gales hospitalized with spinal injury
Southern University receiver Devon Gales was hospitalized Saturday with a spinal injury.
Southern University receiver Devon Gales was taken off the field on a stretcher in Saturday’s game against Georgia and will remain hospitalized with a spinal injury, the school announced.
“Gales will remain under the care of the doctors at Athens Regional until further notice,” Southern said in a statement. “Southern University and the Jaguar Nation asks for your continued prayers for Devon and the entire Gales family during this difficult time.”
Gales was injured on a kick return and reportedly was able to move his hands as he was carted off the field.
Gales is a redshirt sophomore from Baton Rouge. He has one catch for 24 yards in three games this season and also made two tackles.
