The latest recruiting news and notes from around the ACC.

Scout.com provides the latest recruiting news in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Prospect of the week

Grant Gunnell, a class of 2019 quarterback from Houston St. Pius X, already holds a Florida State offer to go along with ones from LSUHoustonOklahoma State and Texas A&M, and he had a huge Saturday. He completed 21 of 30 for 354 yards and five touchdowns in a 56-28 win over win over Parish Episcopal.

Visit of the week

With the season over, defensive tackle Dalyn Wade-Perry is embarking on official visits and it begins this weekend with a trip to Florida State. The No. 2 defensive tackle in New Jersey, the 6-foot-3, 335-pound Wade-Perry has held Stanford in high regard since the spring, and the Cardinal remain at the top of his list. However, a strong trip to Florida State, home of former Sparta (N.J.) Pope John XXIII tight end Ryan Izzo, could put the Seminoles in a better position.

Wade-Perry has an official visit set to UCLA for Dec. 9, and one to Stanford on Jan. 13.

Prospect on the rise

Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park 2019 wide receiver Elijah Bowick played a pivotal role in his team's 11-1 record. He has 62 catches for 991 yards and 18 touchdowns. Virginia Tech and Wake Forest recently became the first schools to offer the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Bowick, and North Carolina and Clemson are showing significant interest.

Underclassman of the week

Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan clas of 2020 cornerback Sheridan Jones is well on his way to being one of the most sought after prospects in his class. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound Jones, who had a tremendous freshman season, already holds offers from Virginia Tech, FloridaMarylandTennessee and West Virginia. With his length, athleticism and work ethic, Jones will likely be pursued by nearly every major program in America.

Commitment watch

Wake Forest (N.C.) defensive tackle Xach Gill took an official visit to North Carolina earlier this month and will head to Virginia Tech on Dec. 9. Along with the aforementioned schools, Gill said he is considering UCLA, but his decision is expected to come down to the two ACC programs. He will make his commitment on Dec. 12. North Carolina appears to have the edge, but this will likely go down to the wire.
