The latest recruiting news and notes around the Big 12.

Scout.com provides the latest recruiting news around the Big 12.

Prospect of the week: Charleston Rambo

Rambo, an Oklahoma Sooners commit since March, starred in this past weekend's 55-41 Cedar Hill (Texas) shootout loss to rival DeSoto (Texas) in a Texas Class 6A Division II state quarterfinal at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Rambo had one of the top individual performances in Texas this season in the defeat as he caught 12 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns on 23.7 yards per reception. Rambo's touchdown snags covered 65, 10, and 66 yards. The Texas Longhorns recently offered to try and convince him to flip.

Prospect on the rise: Cade Brewer

The longtime SMU Mustangs commit from Lake Travis (Texas) added a major offer this week as the Texas Longhorns are in search of a quality tight end for its offense under the direction of new head coach Tom Herman and stepped up to the plate. Brewer has a strong connection to UT as his father, Robert Brewer, played quarterback for the 'Horns. Brewer is having a monster senior year. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound tight end has collected 51 receptions for 702 yards and nine touchdowns.

Underclassman of the week: Hunter Spears

The Class of 2019 standout defensive lineman from Sachse (Texas) picked up his first offer from the Texas Tech Red Raiders. It will likely be the first of many for the the 6-foot-4, 250-pounder, who will likely grow into a monster defensive tackle prospect by the time he graduates from high school and signs with a college in just over two years from now. As a sophomore in 2016, Spears racked up 44 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, and 21 quarterback pressures.

Visit of the week: Kamren Curl

Curl, a 6-foot-2, 176-pounder from Muskogee (Okla.) has been one of the hottest recruits in the region in recent weeks. He picked up his 25th offer from Texas on Wednesday and the Horns joins schools in the Big 12 like Oklahoma and TCU on Curl's ever growing offer tally. Curl will be making an official visit to see the Horned Frogs this weekend. It will be his second official visit as he used the first one to see Nebraska in the Big 10.

Commitment watch: Noah Daniels

This is an interesting one to watch. Daniels, who is fresh off his official visit to Oklahoma, is set to take an official visit to TCU this weekend. Daniels, a 6-foot-0, 180-pound cornerback from League City (Texas) Clear Creek is set to make a decision on Thursday in front of that TCU official. Very interesting, since he also just updated his avatar on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon to him wearing an OU jersey. Who will it be and will he still visit TCU if he picks OU?
