Prospect of the week: D'Andre Swift

D'Andre Swift, the No. 4 running back in the 2017 class, is committed to Georgia but makes it as the prospect of the week in the ACC notebook because of his interest in Clemson. Swift told Scout on Saturday he is looking at taking an official visit to Clemson the weekend before signing day, which would give the Tigers the last in-person visit from Swift. He is set to visit Georgia on Jan. 13, and he could visit Penn State the following week. He made the statements after closing out his career at Philadelphia St. Joseph's Prep by rushing 26 times for 140 yards and three scores in the state title win against Pittsburgh Central Catholic.

Prospect on the rise: Tola Banjoko

Alexandria (Va.) Episcopal 2018 defensive tackle Tola Banjoko is generating a lot of buzz. The native of Canada finished his first season at Episcopal and already collected scholarship offers from NC StateVirginiaGeorgiaMissouriRutgers and Vanderbilt, and Florida State and Virginia Tech are showing are also showing interest. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Banjoko has a great frame and a big upside. His offer list should grow markedly in the next several months.

Underclassman of the week: Devon Lawrence

Wake Forest (N.C.) 2018 running back Devon Lawrence helped lead his team to a 20-17 win against Middle Creek in the state 4AA semifinals Friday. Lawrence finished with 32 carries for 191 yards and two touchdowns. On the season, he has nearly 1,500 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns, and 250 yards receiving and three more scores. Some of the main schools to watch are Clemson, NC State, Florida State, North Carolina and Alabama.

Commitment watch: Lamont Wade

Five-star cornerback Lamont Wade made an official visit to UCLA over the weekend and he is now set to make his announcement Saturday around 8 p.m. The nation's No. 3 cornerback plays at Clairton (Pa.) High, which has a pipeline to Pittsburgh, so the Panthers remain heavily in the mix. However, Penn State coach James Franklin was at his game Friday, and the Nittany Lions and West Virginia seem to have a bunch of momentum. Tennessee is also in the mix as the final few days count down before the decision. And since Wade is enrolling early, do not look for movement after the decision.
