Florida Makes Top 5 for OL Gavin Crawford

A teammate of incoming Gators linebacker Aaron Chiles, Maryland-based offensive lineman Gavin Crawford named Florida in his top five schools.

Florida is among the top five schools for Olney (Md.) Our Lady Good Counsel offensive lineman Gavin Crawford, alongside Duke, West Virginia, Syracuse and Maryland, he announced via social media on Monday.

Crawford was quick to identify Florida as a legitimate contender for his services, as he received a scholarship from the program on Jan. 26. Notably, the Gators have remained in the mix despite the departure of co-offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton, who joined the Washington Commanders in February.

Stapleton is expected to be replaced by Cleveland Browns assistant Jonathan DeCoster, who will work alongside primary offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator Rob Sale. Crawford seemingly approves of the anticipated hire.

The 6-foot-3, 310-pound Crawford has started at left guard for the past two seasons at Our Lady Good Counsel, where he was teammates with class of 2024 Gators linebacker signee, Aaron Chiles. Crawford earned All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference recognition for his play in both seasons.

Crawford is regarded as the No. 30 interior offensive lineman and No. 536 overall prospect in the class of 2025 by the 247Sports composite rankings. He's collected 17 offers in total, with Georgia and Tennessee joining Florida in extending interest from the SEC.

Florida's 2025 recruiting class currently consists of four committed prospects: Tampa (Fla.) Plant running back Waltez Clark, Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy wide receiver Josiah Abdullah, Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County interior offensive lineman Peyton Joseph and Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins
