Hours after locking in several unofficial visits for the spring, Lehi (Utah) High tight end prospect Bear Tenney trimmed his 38-team offer sheet to five: Florida, Colorado, Georgia, Utah and Washington.

Gators tight ends coach Russ Callaway seemingly aims to bring in multiple prospects at his spot during the 2025 cycle, casting a wide net for talent. Doing so would likely entail two pieces that exclusively fit Y and H-tight end molds.

Presenting a towering frame at 6-foot-6, 245 pounds, Tenney possesses the build to perform as the former in the Gators' offense, currently commanded by rising redshirt sophomore Hayden Hansen — who sports a similar stature.

Within that role, the three-star prospect would work as a traditional inline tight-end with heavy run-blocking and pass-protecting responsibilities with occasional targets as a pass catcher. During his junior season, Tenney lived up to his billing as a strong, functionally athletic prospect, flashing impressive power and effectiveness as a blocker while complementing the effort with notable positional versatility as a receiving option.

His production resulted in Florida extending an offer in December 2023. The Gators have quickly climbed his list of options despite the late entry.

Tenney will visit each school unofficially in March and April, including a trek to Gainesville on April 25. Trips to Salt Lake City (March 5), Boulder (March 30), Seattle (April 5) and Athens (April 14) will precede his inaugural appearance at the University of Florida.

There is no set timeline for Tenney's pledge, but his decision to trim his list to five suggests a potential commitment before the start of the 2024 campaign.
