West Coast OL Names Florida in Top 6

After recently entering his recruitment, Florida earned a spot in the top six schools for West Coast offensive lineman John Mills.

Florida clinched a spot in the top six schools for John Mills, a class of 2025 offensive tackle prospect from San Francisco (Calif.) St. Ignatius College Preparatory School, on Monday night.

Mills included Southern California, Washington, Texas, Nebraska and California alongside Florida in his group of contending programs.

Mills recently made his first recruiting trip to Gainesville, stopping by the UF campus on an unofficial basis on Jan. 27. It was on this trip when Mills earned a scholarship offer from Florida.

Per 247Sports, Mills has scheduled four official visits for the summer, to California (May 23), Washington (June 1), Texas (June 14) and Southern Cal (June 21). It remains to be determined when Florida will receive an official visit from Mills, although he reportedly intends to visit UF again on March 30, unofficially.

Mills is regarded as the No. 49 offensive tackle and No. 698 overall prospect in the class of 2025 by the 247Sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound lineman has collected a total of 18 offers.

Mills was named to the San Francisco Chronicle's All-Metro First-Team for his 2024, junior season performance with St. Ignatius.

Florida's 2025 recruiting class currently holds five commitments, from Tampa (Fla.) Plant running back Waltez Clark, Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy wide receiver Josiah Abdullah, Jacksonville (Fla.) Zarephath Academy offensive tackle Enoch Wangoy, Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County interior offensive lineman Peyton Joseph and Tallahassee (Fla.) Rickards defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins
