Alcorn State's quarterback Felix Harper and several former HBCU football stars won the 2023 Dollar Loan IFL National Championship as the Bay Area Panthers defeated the Sioux Falls Storm 51-41 in Henderson, Nevada on Saturday, Aug 5.  Harper, along with OL Kyle Davis (Grambling State), OL Amari Catchings (Jackson State), DL Roderick Henderson (Alabama State), and LB Wes Bowers (Bowie State), were the former HBCU football players winning an IFL title ring.

Harper is the backup quarterback to starter Dalton Sneed who rushed for three scores and passed for a pair of touchdowns in the title game.  Bay Area won its second championship over the seven-time title-holders from Sioux Falls.

The Panthers defeated Northern Arizona Wranglers 68-46 to earn the Western Conference title. The Storm vanquished the top-seeded Frisco Fighters in the Eastern Conference championship game, 45-44.
