The Mizzou Minute: Softball Talent Recognized in Top-100 List, New Uniforms in Hoops

Missouri's talent on the softball field is becoming well recognized as 2024 season draws near, while men's basketball has new alternate threads.

Missouri softball found three Tigers receiving honors in a preseason top-100 listing of the the top players in the nation. Just a month away from the beginning of the 2024 season, the D100 Player Rankings included Mya Dodge at No. 83. Dodge looks to be a vital part of the Tiger's outfield after bringing home Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year honors last year. Dodge looks to make the jump to SEC softball, and hopes to be joining her next two teammates as an all-SEC selection by the end of the season.

The two returning players named to the list were shortstop Jenna Laird and outfielder Alex Honnold bringing in 61st and 47th, respectively. Both players were named second-team All-SEC  last year but are aiming to be first-team selections in 2024.  Overall, Missouri will be in great hands on defense with an outfield full of both talent, and proven ability with an award haul to back it up.

Meanwhile, men's basketball won't be back in action until Saturday when the Tigers take on Florida in Mizzou Arena. To hold them over, Mizzou fans were treated with new alternative uniforms unveiled Thursday, and they're definitely a nod to the past.

Think gold. A lot of gold.

Everyone can hope the new/old-style threads kick in the old saying "You look good, you play good."
