How to Watch: Missouri Baseball vs Purdue Fort Wayne

Missouri faces off in another weekend series against a member of the Horizon league.

Missouri probably wants their last home series back.

They dropped their first home series against the Northern Kentucky Norse 2-3 despite scoring 46 runs in the three games. The Tigers were able to recover on Tuesday and are coming off a mid-week win against Lindenwood in a close game.

To close out their home stand, Missouri will take on Purdue Fort Wayne in a four-game series, including a doubleheader on Saturday.

The Tigers have their usual starters slated for the four-game series with right-hander Bryce Mayer taking the first game of the series. In his last trip to the mound, Mayer gave up three runs on two hits through five innings in the Tigers loss to Northern Kentucky. He will take on Mac Ayres, who gave up one run on one hit in the Mastodons win over Butler University.

Next up is left-hander Javyn Pimental, who has a stellar last couple outings. Pimental put up four shutout innings in relief against Northern Kentucky, striking out five in the process. His only start in the season came against CSU Bakersfield, where he put up 3 2/3 innings with five strikeouts to help the Tigers earn the win. Pimental will face off against Carter Sabol, who pitched 5 1/3 innings and held eight hits and three walks to just three runs in the PFW's win against the University of Evansville.

For game two of the doubleheader, Missouri will send out right-hander Carter Rustad. Four innings of two hit, two run baseball from Rustad helped the Tigers earn their win only win of their last series against Northern Kentucky. Fellow righty Josh Kuhns will take the mound against Rustad. Kuhns had a rough last outing, giving up 10 runs on 11 hits, only five were earned.

Logan Lunceford will close out the series and will look to recover from a rough last outing. Lunceford did not make it out of the second inning in his last appearance and gave up seven hits on seven runs for his first loss of the season. For the Mastodons, Brody Fine will take the mound. Fine gave up eight hits for nine runs in 3 1/3 innings in PFW's loss to the University of Evansville.

Missouri will take the field at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, March 8.
