How to Watch: Missouri Baseball vs Southeast Missouri State

The Tigers return from a seven-game roadtrip to the West Coast for their home opener against the Redhawks.

After a rough roadtrip in which Missouri lost three of the seven games played, the Tigers are looking to rebound with their nine-game home stand.

The Redhawks have struggled offensively this season, but the Tigers aren't doing much better. SEMO has averaged 5.25 runs per game and Missouri has 5. Missouri's main problem has been with strikeouts. Through the seven games they have played so far, they have struck out 76 times. Missouri will look to turn that around in their first home game of the season.

Missouri has historically played much better at home, earning 19 of their 30 wins at Taylor Stadium last season.

To start their home stand, Missouri will give the ball to left-handed pitcher Daniel Wissler. This will be the sophomore's first start as a Tiger. He has taken the mound twice so far this season, pitching 3.1 innings against Cal Poly and 1.0 innings against UC San Diego.

Against Wissler will be SEMO's right-hander Sam Heyman. Heyman made eight starts last year for the Redhawks, but this is his first in 2024. He put up a 2.07 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 16 appearances last season.

SEMO will travel across the state on Tuesday with a win under their belt to play Missouri at 5 p.m. CT in Taylor Stadium.
