Mizzou Minute: Multiple Tigers Impress on Day 1 of Senior Bowl Practice

Several former Mizzou Tigers players have begun practicing for the 2024 Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL.

The Reese's Senior Bowl likes to make the claim that the 'draft starts in Mobile.'

For several Missouri Tigers players this week, the Senior Bowl provides a great opportunity to show their talents to NFL scouts ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. On Day 1 of practice for the game, Tuesday, Missouri cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, defensive end Darius Robinson and offensive tackle Javon Foster and runningback Cody Schrader all gathered attention for their performances.

Abrams-Draine received praise for a rep he had against Texas A&M wide receiver Ainias Smith, showing off his sticky coverage skills. The Mobile, Alabama, native led the Tigers with four interceptions in 2023.

Foster surprised many with his physicality and ability to anchor against powerful pass rushers. Foster was the veteran leader of a Missouri offensive line that was a semifinalist for the Joe Moore award in 2023.

Robinson turned some heads with his rare power and athleticism. A captain for Missouri in 2023, Robinson led the Tigers in sacks with 8.5 in 2023. Robinson saw reps on both the interior and edge of the defensive line. His versatility and experience at both positions are two of his best traits as a prospect.

Schrader, the SEC's leading rusher in 2023, gained attention for his ability as a pass blocker and for his burst outside. A former walk-on and the winner of the Burlsworth trophy, Schrader's story will be one of most intriuging to follow in this year's NFL Draft.

Practices for the Senior Bowl will continue through Thursday before the game at 12 p.m. Saturday.
