SCOOP: JUCO WR Trejan Bridges Sets Up Return Visit To South Carolina

Former Oklahoma Sooner receiver Trejan Bridges checked out South Carolina's Football program on Tuesday and has confirmed he's set for a return trip next month.

On Tuesday afternoon, an Instagram story created some buzz amongst South Carolina's fanbase, as Trejan Bridges, a JUCO wide receiver from East Los Angeles College, posted photos of himself on South Carolina's campus, taking in the Gamecocks' most recent Spring practice.

Trejan, a member of the class of 2023 according to his JUCO profile, confirmed with GamecocksDigest that he was on a visit to South Carolina and that he will be taking another visit to check out South Carolina's Spring game on April 15th.

Although there's not a lot of info on this recruitment, and things are moving fast, we know that Trejan has a well-known relationship with Gamecock starting quarterback Spencer Rattler that dates back to their days at Oklahoma. This also means that Bridges has a connection with South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer, the tight ends coach and associate head coach at Oklahoma during Trejan's two years with the Sooners in 2019 and 2020.

Trejan Bridges was kicked off the Oklahoma Sooners Football team after an incident on April 15th, 2021, that led to a subsequent May 7th arrest and the following charges; Robbery, Conspiracy, and aiding and abetting with a dangerous weapon. Trejan posted a $70,000 bond, and then, according to FanNation's Oklahoma affiliate, AllSooners, had to wear a GPS monitoring device and undergo "frequent check-ins with both the bonds persons and the GPS monitoring agency."

This sequence of events led to Bridges going down the junior college route and heading to the west coast to play for East Los Angeles College, where he played eleven games last fall, racking up 762 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. If he's matured since his time in Norman, OK, Trejan could be a solid player for the Gamecocks and would be someone who could benefit from playing with Antwane "Juice" Wells, Xavier Legette, and his former quarterback Spencer Rattler.
