Two weeks ago, we wrote about a startup trying to raise money via Kickstarter for its" HoopTracker", a gadget you mount onto a hoop to keep track of your shooting statistics. Unfortunately for them, Wilson Sporting Goods might have made their tech already outdated.

Later this year, they'll be releasing a "Smart Basketball", which appears to be a standard sized leather basketball that can sense if your shot is a make or a miss, and from where you shot. The ball then sends the information in real time to a smartphone app, which you can later check for all your shooting data.
