Stephen Curry gets carded at R-rated movies, California Pizza Kitchen

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry says he still gets carded, including at a California Pizza Kitchen with his wife.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has become one of the best offensive players in the league (the best if you ask him), so you would expect him to be pretty well recognized in the town in which he plays. But that was not the case at a local California Pizza Kitchen, Curry told Dime Magazine recently.

"Me and my wife went to dinner, and we didn’t have our daughter with us, and she was with the babysitter. So I ordered a beer, and I didn’t have my ID with me, ‘cause I left it in the car and I thought she’d recognize me. So the waitress asks, and I was like, ‘uh, is your manager here,’ and I took my chances with him knowing who I was."

Curry says the manager was able to help him but admits that his childlike face often gets him carded in situations most 26-year-olds breeze through. R-rated movies, for instance, where Curry said he occasionally gets asked for ID despite what he called his "somewhat disconnected goatee", in another interview with ESPN Radio.
