Cubs fan Coach K found out about Jon Lester on live radio
Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski learned of the Chicago Cubs' signing of free-agent pitcher Jon Lester Wednesday while he was on live with The Dan Patrick Show.
"Hallelujah," Krzyzewski said, after Patrick informed him Lester has signed with the North Siders.
You might be wondering why the winningest Division I men's basketball coach is a fan of a team that hasn't won the World Series since 1908, but Krzyzewski grew up on the North Side of Chicago.

The Duke coach also said he was at the infamous Steve Bartman game in 2003, and recalled his feelings during the incident:
"As all that was going on, I was yelling 'Call a timeout!' No, I was. I was going nuts. Because everyone was yelling 'a-something' and we're giving up the lead ... let's fake an injury, let's get control of the situation ... It was frustrating."
You know what, it's not Bartman's fault. It was our fault that we didn't control the Bartman situation the right way."
