Adidas pays $100,000 to three fastest players at combine

Adidas paid the three players who ran the fastest 40-yard dashes at the NFL combine $100,000. Michigan State cornerback Trae Waynes ran a 4.31 to finish first among Adidas signees, while Miami wide receiver Phillip Dorsett ran a 4.33 and West Virginia wide receiver Kevin White followed with a 4.35.

Adidas paid the three players who ran the fastest 40-yard dashes at the NFL combine $100,000, ESPN's Darren Rovell reports.

Only players who wore Adidas cleats and signed with the company before the combine were eligible for the reward. Despite wearing Adidas cleats and running the fastest time at the combine, UAB wide receiver J.J. Nelson didn't sign with Adidas before the combine.

• Kobe Bryant was not pleased with his teammates' victory celebration

Earlier this month, Adidas announced it would give out customized Porsches to the three fastest players, but the NFL squashed those plans because of its deal with General Motors.

Last season, Adidas gave $100,000 to Brandin Cooks for running the fastest 40-yard dash, but he went on to sign with Nike.
