Video: Cheerleaders brawl at college basketball tournament

The Albany State men's basketball team was steam-rolled by Tuskegee, 80-63, at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament on Tuesday. But while Albany State's basketball team advanced to the semifinals, the cheerleaders and dance team were sent home.

During halftime of the game, a brawl broke out between the two universities' spirit leaders. The SIAC later released a statement saying the spirit squads would be banned from the rest of the tournament. From AL.com:

"The obligation to observe basic principles of sportsmanship and fair play extends to all participants at the SIAC basketball tournament. As a consequence of the incident on Tuesday, the cheerleading and dance teams from both Albany State University and Tuskegee University will not be permitted to participate in our tournament for the remainder of the week."

Both schools also released statement apologizing for the incident.
