Carli Lloyd has 372 text messages after World Cup hat trick

What happens when you score the fastest hat trick in World Cup history in the Final? You get a congratulatory text message from pretty much everyone who has your phone number.

As Carli Lloyd walked through the tunnels of BC Place Stadium in Vancouver on Sunday night, she acknowledged that she had 372 text messages waiting for her when she opened her phone after the game.

That's an astonishing rate of 124 texts per goal, and it will likely take her far longer to respond to all of the messages than the 16 minutes it took her to score the goals against Japan in the team's 5–2 victory over Japan.
