The Orioles are auctioning off a ‘game-used’ Zach Britton jersey from the wild card game he never played in
It probably smells like fabric softener.
There was great controversy earlier in the MLB postseason during the AL wild card game, when Orioles manager Buck Showalter refused to bring in Zach Britton, his All-Star closer, until he had a lead.
He never got that lead—the game was blown by Ubaldo Jimenez in extras, leaving Britton in the bullpen.
Now, you can bid on Britton’s “game-used” jersey, which he never actually used in a game.
Update: Britton later tweeted that the auction "false advertising"
It probably smells like fabric softener.
