Watch: Scotland's Dundonald is a Modern Links Masterpiece

It may not have the major-championship history of some of its Scottish neighbors, but Dundonald is a gem in its own right. See it from above in this video, via our partners at Scotland Where Golf Began.

Dundonald Links may not have the major-championship pedigree of some of its Scottish neighbors, but it’s an incredible links course with a rich history all its own.

Dundonald was laid out in 1911 at 6,700 yards, and it was thought at that time to be the longest course in the world. It was turned over to the military during WWII and remained dormant until 2003, when it was restored.

This week its high dunes and windswept fairways are on full display as Dundonold hosts the Women’s Scottish Open. See more of the course in the video above, which SI is airing in partnership with Scotland Where Golf Began, a digital platform that inspires golfers near and far to plan an exciting golf break and make the most of Scotland on and off the course.
