Standing: 2nd in AL West
Team Leaders:
Batting Average: Mike Trout, .310
Home Runs: Trout, 21
ERA: Garrett Richards, 2.55
The Angels lead the majors in runs scored, but their division rivals, the Oakland Athletics, lead the league in runs allowed. At the start of the second half, the Angels trail the A's by 1.5 games for the division lead. However, with the second-best record in baseball, they also hold a considerable lead on the first Wild Card spot, above the Mariners.
After a 78-84 finish last season that put manager Mike Scioscia on the hot seat entering this season, it looks like the Angels have figured it out. Scioscia's club entered the All-Star break winners of 10 of its last 11 games and nearly having caught Oakland in the AL West.
