New York Yankees

Record: 47-47

Standing: 3rd in AL East

Team Leaders:

Batting Average: Jacoby Ellsbury, .282

Home Runs: Mark Teixeira, 17

ERA: Masahiro Tanaka, 2.51

The Yankees entered the 2014 season with a strong pitching rotation and led the AL East as late as May 18. But Ivan Nova, C.C. Sabathia, Michael Pineda and Masahiro Tanaka have all gone down with injuries, leaving Hiroki Kuroda as the only healthy member of the Opening Day rotation.

The Yankees' offense has struggled as well, averaging fewer than four runs per game, the fifth-worst in the AL. Big free-agent bats like Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran have failed to live up to the hype, and the Yankees have had trouble finding ways to drive in runs.

At the break, the Yankees sit six games behind the Orioles in the East, and 5.5 games behind the final Wild Card spot.
