To trade pitcher Bartolo Colon, the New York Mets are willing to take on approximately $2 million of what remains on his two-year, $20 million contract, Andy Martino of the New York Daily News reports.

The 41-year-old is 9-8 with an ERA of 4.03 and has struck out 100 batters this the season. In his last start, Colon took a perfect game into the 7th inning.

Colon is set to earn $11 million next season.

According to Martino, if Colon is dealt, it will likely happen closer to the trade deadline. The deal would be most attractive, Martino reports, if pitchers David Price, Cliff Lee and Ian Kennedy all remain with their current clubs.
