Cubs GM: Team will be 'active' at trade deadline
Chicago Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer said he expects his team to be active as the trade deadline approaches.
The MLB non-waiver trading deadline is Thursday at 4 p.m. ET.
The team has already traded pitchers Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel and infielder/outfielder Emilio Bonifacio could be on his way out of town as well, according to ESPN.com.

"Tomorrow is moving day," Hoyer said. "Things will get a lot more serious as we move into tomorrow. People are somewhat reluctant on the last day. I expect to be active. We're having a lot of conversations."
Outfielder Nate Schierholtz and pitcher Carlos Villanueva could be dealt as both are in the last season of their contracts. The Cubs are 44-61 this season and are headed for their fifth straight last place finish in the National League Central.
