The winter meetings may be over, but there are still several big-name free agents on the market who are keeping the rumor mill running.

• MLB commissioner Rob Manfred will not lift Pete Rose’s lifetime ban from baseball for betting on games, the league announced Monday.
• Pitcher Johnny Cueto has signed a six-year, $130 million deal with the San Francisco Giants, the team announced.

• The St. Louis Cardinals are no longer looking to make a “dynamic signing” in free agency, general manager John Monzeliak told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. They missed on signing top targets David Price and Jason Heyward.
• The Chicago Cubs are expected to trade for a young starting pitcher this offseason, reports Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Chicago has already acquired Ben Zobrist, John Lackey, and Heyward.
• The Kansas City Royals won’t be able to re-sign outfielder Alex Gordon unless the market price drops into their comfort zone, reports Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star.
