TMZ Sports retracts story on video of Yasiel Puig fight
UPDATE: TMZ Sports has retracted the story because the man in the video is not Yasiel Puig. The original story follows.
Purported video of the fight resulting in an MLB investigation of Yasiel Puig was released by TMZ Sports Saturday.
Puig was involved in a fight outside of a Miami bar on Nov. 25, for which he was investigated under the MLB’s new domestic violence policy. A witness accused Puig of pushing his sister, which he has denied.
In the video, a man said to be Puig pushes a bar employee before he is attacked by others. Several people run toward the altercation but the video does not show the resolution. Neither the bar employee nor Puig pressed charges as a result of the incident. Puig sustained bruises and a swollen eye from the fight.
