After being voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Wednesday, Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza recreated a Sports Illustrated cover from 1994 in an appearance on MLB Tonight.

Griffey and Piazza were featured on dual covers for the April 4, 1994 issue holding the same bat. SI’s Tom Verducci wrote the cover story on baseball’s next generation of exciting young players, in which he included Piazza, Griffey, Gary Sheffield and Frank Thomas, among others.

In 1994, Griffey, 24, led the league with 40 home runs, and Piazza, 25, hit .319 to follow up his Rookie of the Year campaign in 1993.

Griffey broke Tom Seaver’s Hall of Fame vote record by receiving 99.3% of the votes, while Piazza received 83% of votes.
