Detroit Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez will not pitch until at least Monday due to right triceps inflammation, manager Brad Ausmus told reporters Thursday.

Sanchez was scheduled to face Tigers hitters in a bullpen session Thursday, but didn’t participate after an MRI found inflammation in his lower right triceps.

“It doesn’t seem to be anything concerning,” Ausmus said. “But I guess you’re always cringing when it involves one of your starting pitchers especially.”

Sanchez made 25 starts for Detroit last season, missing some time due to a shoulder injury. He was 10–10 in 2015, with a 4.99 ERA and 138 strikeouts.

Entering his 11th season in the majors, Sanchez is 80–74 in his career with a 3.70 ERA.
