For the second season in a row, Giants ace Madison Bumgarner went deep off Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw.

The two lefties, long at the center of a heated divisional rivalry, squared off in the second inning, and on a 1–1 count, Kershaw served up a belt-high fastball on the inner half that Bumgarner got all of.

The home run spotted the Giants a 1–0 lead. The Dodgers went on to win the game 3–2 in 10 innings.
