World Baseball Classic Stacked With Former Phillies

The World Baseball Classic will host many former Philadelphia Phillies.

Rosters were officially released Thursday and eight members of the Philadelphia Phillies were announced to compete in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

In addition, former Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris and Jean Segura were picked to join Gregory Soto on the Dominican team. Seranthony Dominguez was not listed on the roster.

Four players who spent time in the Phillies organization will pitch for Canada -- Nick Pivetta, Phillippe Aumont, Scott Mathieson and Adam Loewen.

Former Phillies left-hander JoJo Romero will pitch with Taijuan Walker for Mexico.

Prospect Jaydenn Estanista, ranked No. 26 on MLB Pipeline, will also pitch for the Netherlands.

The WBC will be played from March 8-21 and will feature 20 teams. There are four pools which each include five teams.
