Texas Rangers Are Betting Favorite to Win World Series

The Texas Rangers, leading the ALDS 2-0 over the Baltimore Orioles, have the best betting odds to win the Word Series.

The Texas Rangers aren’t just in good shape to reach the American League Champion Series, but the Vegas oddsmakers are expecting more.

Much more.

The Rangers are the betting favorites to win the World Series, according to odds published by Fox Sports on Monday. Texas is listed at +360, which leads the eight teams remaining in the playoffs. A $10 bet placed on the Rangers on those odds would yield a total payout of $46.

As for the rest of the postseason field:

The Orioles, naturally, have the longest odds. (The odds for the Braves, Phillies, Diamondbacks and Dodgers are surely changing after the results of Monday night’s games.)

Trailing the Rangers 2-0 in the best-of-five AL Division Series, Baltimore needs to win three straight games to advance to the ALCS.

Orioles outfielder Austin Hays did predict as much after Sunday’s 11-8 loss at Camden Yards.

“We’re just going to play with our hair on fire and win three in a row,” Hays said, according to ESPN.

The Orioles would have to win twice in Arlington, with the series shifting to Globe Life Field for Game 3 on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Nathan Eovaldi is starting for Texas opposite Dean Kremer.

While the Rangers might be the money play at the moment, FanGraphs offers up a different set of odds for the next World Series champion.

As of Tuesday morning, the Rangers have a 14.6% chance of winning the World Series. The Astros, tied 1-1 with Minnesota, are at 16.8%. The Braves (27.6%) are the best bet, as of now.

Of course, all these teams have to advance to the Championship Series before even thinking about winning it all.
