Police in Marble Falls, Texas are investigating two John Jay High School football players who targeted a referee during a game against Marble Falls on Sept. 4.

Video from Friday night’s game shows two John Jay players knocking an official to the ground. The first player charged the referee from about seven yards away, lowering his right shoulder and knocking him to the turf. Immediately after, another defensive back ran toward the official, hitting his helmet into the referee's back.

Both players were then ejected from the game. The students have been suspended indefinitely from both school and the team by the Northside Independent School District, which is conducting its own investigation.

“The incident was recorded on video from several different angles and the Marble Falls Police Department is conducting an investigation,” police said in a statement Monday. “No arrests have been made at this time. An update will be released within the week.”
