National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) has added a sixth team, the Houston Scrap Yard Dawgs, the league announced Friday.

The Dawgs, which will be based in the Woodlands, Texas, will join the Dallas Charge as the league’s second team in The Lone Star State.

“We are extremely proud of this announcement,” NPF Commissioner Cheri Kempf said in a release. “Professional fastpitch continues to enjoy expansion and the state of Texas gains another jewel in its crown of women’s professional sports. The Scrap Yard Sports Complex is already an impressive venue and will most certainly make a great location for the Dawgs to call home.”

Along with the Charge, the Dawgs join the defending champion Chicago Bandits, Akron Racers, Pennsylvania Rebellion and USSSA Florida Pride as members of America’s only professional softball league. They will begin play when the NPF season begins in June 2016.
