New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony says he doesn't know how long he will be out of action after injuring his back this week.

Anthony was injured in the second quarter of Monday's loss to the Houston Rockets. He visited a Houston doctor after the game to get painkillers and did not play in Wednesday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Anthony, who is averaging 23.2 points per game this season, said he is feeling better even though he was seen walking slowly as he entered the American Airlines Arena in Dallas.

“I could barely walk or do anything yesterday so I’m doing a little better," Anthony told The New York Post. "I’m walking."

As for a timetable to his return, Anthony wasn't too sure. The Knicks (4-12) play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday and return home to face the Miami Heat on Sunday.

“I don’t think it will be too long," Anthony said. “I think the spasms will go away. But I’m not going to play with spasms."
