NBA suspends Warriors' Shaun Livingston one game
The NBA has suspended Golden State Warriors guard Shaun Livingston one game without pay for hitting Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki in the groin during Saturday's game, the league announced Sunday.
Livingston will be forced to sit out Golden State's game on Sunday against the San Antonio Spurs.
With 1:28 remaining in the third quarter of the teams' game, Nowitzki received a pass and started to back down Livingston. Livingston, who was facing Nowitzki's back, reached between the Mavs forward's legs and appeared to strike Nowitzki's groin. A foul was immediately called.
The Warriors earned a 123-110 victory, helping the team improve its league-best record to 63-13. Golden State has already clinched the top seed in the Western Conference.
