New video appears to show Thabo Sefolosha being arrested
TMZ published a video that it says shows footage of Atlanta Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha being arrested outside a New York City nightclub early Wednesday morning.
In the video, which is embedded below, someone can be heard saying, "Relax, man."
Multiple officers appear to wrestle the man TMZ says is Sefolosha to the ground. An officer then brandishes a nightstick and appears to swipe toward the man on the ground.
Earlier this week, TMZ published a different video that it says shows Sefolosha being arrested.
ESPN reported that the details surrounding the arrest, which is being investigated by the National Basketball Players Association, have "come under increasing scrutiny" by the NBPA and the Hawks.
Sefolosha and Hawks teammate Pero Antic were arrested and charged with obstructing governmental administration for refusing to clear the area of the crime scene after Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland and a female companion were stabbed outside the nightclub.
Sefolosha, who was also charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, fractured his fibula during the incident, and will miss the remainder of the season, including the playoffs.
