Report: Magic trade Moe Harkless to Trail Blazers for second-round pick
The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired forward Maurice Harkless in a trade with the Orlando Magic, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Harkless, 22, is a 6'8" small forward who was drafted 15th in 2012 out of St. John’s. He averaged 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in 15minutes per game last season. He played in just 45 of Orlando’s games and was a healthy scratch in 10 consecutive games.
The Blazers had a hole to fill on the wing after losing Arron Afflalo and Wesley Matthews in free agency and trading Nicolas Batum to the Charlotte Hornets. Will Barton and Alonzo Gee also reportedly agreed to deals with other teams.
Portland did add shooting guard Gerald Henderson in the trade with the Hornets and signed veteran small forward Al-Farouq Aminu.
