Pelicans PG Norris Cole sidelined with high ankle sprain
New Orleans Pelicans backup point guard Norris Cole has high ankle sprain, team officials said before Monday's preseason game against the Chicago Bulls.
A timetable for Norris' return has yet to be determined.
Last year, Cole contributed an average of 9.9 points and 3.2 assists in 28 games for the Pelicans after arriving in a Feb. trade with the Miami Heat. Cole averaged 8.8 points in New Oreleans' first-round playoff loss to the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
Cole inked a $3 million deal as part of a qualifying offer in the offseason
Tyreke Evans will primarily assume point guard duties for the team.
Centers Omer Asik and Alexis Ajinca are also on the team's injury.
