NBA unveils 2015 Christmas Day jerseys and socks
On Friday, the NBA and Adidas revealed the jerseys and socks to be worn for the league’s Christmas Day slate, once again taking a unique approach to highlight one of the league’s biggest days of the year.
Gone are the sleeves and player nicknames of the past. The NBA has gone back to sleeveless tops, and has adopted a classic feel with their scripted names.
From the NBA:
This year’s uniforms incorporate primary team colors and cream tones, while player names and numbers are showcased in holiday-style script and detailed with woven rows of stitching. A scarlet NBA seal is also displayed on the back of the jersey as a nod to holiday greeting cards.
The league’s special socks are made by Stance, and feature a snowflake design straight off a Christmas sweater.
Here’s what each of the day’s matchups will look like:
Noon ET: The Pelicans visit the Heat in Miami.
2:30 p.m. ET: The Bulls travel to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder, who sport their navy blue.
5 p.m. ET: The Warriors, draped in blue, meet the Cavaliers in Cleveland.
8 p.m. ET: The Spurs take on the Rockets in Houston.
10:30 p.m.: The Clippers meet the Lakers, who subtly feature their purple, in Los Angeles.
