Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade paid tribute to slain teenager Laquan McDonald on his shoes Friday night.
McDonald, 17, was shot 16 times by a police officer in Chicago in October of last year. Dashboard-camera footage of the shooting was released to the public last week.
Wade grew up in Robbins, Ill., a suburb on the south side of Chicago. He paid tribute to McDonald by writing his name on his shoes for the Heat’s game against the New York Knicks.
Wade scored 17 points in a 97–78 win over the Knicks.
