Just two days after the Golden State Warriors became the fastest team to ever clinch a playoff berth, the Philadelphia 76ers were eliminated from playoff contention.

With a 116–108 loss to the Washington Wizards on Monday night, the 76ers fell to 8–51 and assured a fourth straight season without a postseason berth.

The team last appeared in the postseason under coach Doug Collins after the 2011–12 season, falling to the Boston Celtics in seven games in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Sixers have gone a combined 45–178 since the start of the 2013–14 season.
