Nike unveils new Team USA basketball uniforms for 2016 Olympics
Nike unveiled its new line of uniforms and technology for Team USA's basketball team at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.
As players and sports have changed, Nike has shifted for a much tighter and sleeker look on its uniform across all sports.
Designers have also stopped working on the components on the uniforms separately and consider everything as part of one unit. The core of the system is the base layer options with arm sleeves, padded compression gear and knee sleeves that provide protection as well as breathability.

The shorts also feature a engineered knit mesh in the back with a hydrophobic four-way stretch woven fabric in the front.
Players can also wear Nike Elite Versatility basketball socks which aim at providing stability and cushioning while also doing away with moisture to increase breathability.
The women's team uniforms are similar but women can also choose between two pairs of shorts: one with a traditional waistband placement and one pair with a shorter rise.
