Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr expects Andre Iguodala to return from injury in about a week, according to ESPN’s Marc Spears.
Iguodala sustained a left ankle sprain on March 11 and was originally expected to miss at least two weeks. After sitting out the Warriors’ past 10 games, Kerr thinks Iguodala will need another week before he is ready to return to the court.
• WOO: Warriors continue pursuit of history with win over Wizards
The Warriors are chasing the NBA’s best single-season record set by the 1995–96 Bulls. They secured their 67th victory against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night and need to win six of their remaining eight games to reach 73 wins and break the record.
If Iguodala returns next week, he could help the team in its two crucial matchups with the San Antonio Spurs before preparing for the playoffs.
