Lakers Rumors: LA Among 5 Teams Linked to Versatile Big Man Ahead of Trade Deadline

Could the Lakers add this big at the deadline?

The trade rumors are getting more intense as the days go by. Will the Lakers pull the trigger on a deal, or will the Rui Hachimura trade be enough for Lakers brass?

Time will only tell, but in the meantime, the Lakers trade rumors are ramping up, and they are rumored to be in on a handful of players, including Spurs big man Jakob Poeltl.

However, LA is one of five teams rumored to make a deal for the Austrian. Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus says five teams, including the purple and gold, are linked to Poeltl.

"The asking price is believed to be a first-round pick and a good young player. Teams linked to Poeltl include the Boston Celtics, Raptors, Lakers, Clippers and Warriors. The Celtics may be a reach, given their tax position and commitment to Al Horford and Robert Williams III.

With the Lakers getting solid minutes from Thomas Bryant, they may be less inclined to chase a big man."

A first-round pick and a young player may be too much of an asking price for the Lakers, especially with Anthony Davis and Thomas Bryant getting the bulk of the big man minutes.

Poeltl is averaging 11.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, and three assists per game while maintaining a field goal percentage of 62.3%.

Now, if Poeltl were to be included with Josh Richardson and Doug McDermott, that'd be more like it; however, the deal would have to include more than a first-round pick and one young player.

There is still plenty of time and discussions to be had with other teams regarding a trade. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka has said he is not done making moves after acquiring Rui, so we'll see if he can get another one done.
