NBA Trade Rumors: Magic Center Wendell Carter Jr. Update Revealed

The Orlando Magic has been quiet in the trade market the past few seasons, and that trend could continue.

The Orlando Magic has been mentioned in some trade rumors recently, but despite teams being interested in some of its players, the team looks like it would rather hold on to its chemistry.

The main player on the Magic whose name has been thrown around as of late is staring center Wendell Carter Jr. The big man recently entered the starting lineup again after coming back from injury, and has made his impact felt.

As a result, multiple sources, including ESPN's Brian Windhorst, have reason to believe that the Magic is going to keep Carter Jr, despite multiple teams showing interest.

The big man has scored double-digit points in six of his last eight games since coming back from a minor knee issue, and the team is better when he is on the floor, as he impacts the game in other ways besides just scoring.

The Magic would likely get a decent return for the former lottery pick because of the versatility and improved shooting that Carter Jr. has shown this season. But the main things that head coach Jamahl Mosley values is consistency with his roster and chemistry, and those two things would take a hit if the team was to trade their big man.

Carter Jr. and the rest of the Magic will be back in action tonight against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. ET at Frost Bank Center.
