Detroit Lions rookie tight end Eric Ebron may miss the team's first preseason game with an undisclosed injury, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Ebron did not practice on Wednesday, and coach Jim Caldwell did not reveal the injury to reporters. The Lions selected Ebron with the No. 10 pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

Caldwell said he was confident Ebron would make a return to practice soon.

“It’s nothing serious,” Caldwell said. “He’ll be back. Just maybe a day or two.”

Earlier this week, Ebron said he had already hit his rookie wall as he struggled to adjust during his first professional training camp. Ebron amassed 973 receiving yards and three touchdowns last season at the University of North Carolina.

The Lions open the preseason on Saturday when they host the Cleveland Browns
