Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey will likely be charged with misdemeanor battery after his alleged role in a nightclub brawl in Miami last month, reports the Miami Herald.

According to the report, personal injury attorney Marwan Porter said police have indicated that Pouncey will face charges.

Pouncey, and his twin brother Mike, a center for the Miami Dolphins are being sued by the three people who claim the Pounceys and their security guards assaulted them. They are seeking more than $15,000 in damages.

“Until such time, no charges can be formally filed against either of my clients,” the Pouncey's attorney Jeff Ostrow said. “From what we’ve discovered, the evidence supporting the battery claims is flimsy, at best.”

Maurkice Pouncey signed a six-year, $48 million contract with Pittsburgh in June. Mike Pouncey is sidelined with a hip injury and is expected to miss the entire preseason.
