Browns tight end MarQueis Gray diagnosed with concussion

Cleveland Browns tight end MarQueis Gray has been diagnosed with a concussion suffered in Saturday's preseason game against the Detroit Lions, Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reports. Gray, 24, had two catches for 51 yards in the Browns' preseason opener.

Cleveland Browns tight end MarQueis Gray has been diagnosed with a concussion suffered in Saturday's preseason game against the Detroit Lions, Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reports.

Gray, 24, had two catches for 51 yards in the Browns' preseason opener. He is entering his second season out of the University of Minnesota. During 12 games last season, Gray had two catches for eight yards as a rookie.

The Browns have not announced a timeline for Gray's return to the field.

Cleveland lost to the Lions 13-12. First-year Browns coach Mike Pettine said rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel did not move past Brian Hoyer on the depth chart following Saturday's game.

The Browns are also awaiting a ruling from the NFL on wide receiver Josh Gordon's appeal of his season-long suspension for a positive marijuana test.
