Texans rookie NT Louis Nix III added to active roster

Houston Texans third-round draft pick Louis Nix III was added to the team's active roster and was back on the field to participate in training camp for the first time Tuesday. Nix had been on the physically unable to perform list while he recovered from arthroscopic knee surgery.

Nix had been on the physically unable to perform list while he recovered from arthroscopic knee surgery, which he had before training camp.

The nose tackle also underwent knee surgery in November after his season at Notre Dame was cut short due to a torn meniscus.

Nix is expected to compete for the Texans' starting nose tackle position.
